    A MODEST PROPOSAL      The story called “A modest proposal”, in my opinion has no relation with the values of fairness and justice. Before getting into the reasons that will support my idea, it is important to have the meaning of these two important values clear for our knowledge. Fairness is an impartial and just treatment or behaviour without favouritism or discrimination. It is the quality of being reasonable, right and just.  When i listen to the word “fairness” i immediately think of equality, it just pops in my mind. It is not to choose someone over the other for selfish reasons. While Justice is the condition of being morally correct or right, it is fairness in the way people are treated or dealt with. These two values, as you can see, are very similar.          The reasons of why i believe that there are none of these two values in the story is because the proposal that Jonathan Swift made is unfair.
